The purpose of the tool set is to raise, collect and evaluate your startup ideas, develop and test a business model, and market (and develop – if applicable) better products for your ideal customers. The Lite version contains the first 6 tools of the Standard edition, covering areas of self-evaluation, idea collection and evaluation, and drafting your first business model in the form of a Lean Canvas. All other tools are also included as demos. You can get it now for FREE without signing-up (no opt-in required). See the Technical notes bellow for the system requirements.

Technical notes:

The tools work almost like a program which you are able to use without knowing the program code. In our case practically no knowledge of MS Excel is presumed apart from the very basics (elementary level). It is also very safe to use the spreadsheets, it is almost impossible to break them.

System requirements: Microsoft Excel 2013 or newer or Microsoft 365, LibreOffice 7.0 or newer (free) for PC, or MS Excel App (free from Google Play or Apple App Store) – big screen mobile (>6″) or tablet is recommended.

If you wouldn’t like your ideas and business models to be stored in the could, then this toolbox is especially for you.

To make the best use of these tools read the eBook In Search of the Lean Startup (get it FREE by signing-up our newsletter). The latest version is always available for our customers in their account, as part of the know-how pack.

The process of building a successful startup

So you want to be successful with your new idea, new venture (perhaps a startup) or new product launch … Very well, many people want that. However, only about 20% succeed (that is the average 5 year survival rate of startups and new businesses).

Be among those!

These tools and frameworks are especially useful for those, who start small, but aim high. For those who has dreams, but are not dreamers. Who have tight budget, but broad mind. Who enjoy solving problems – rather than waiting for someone else to solve those for them.

You may want to hurry, and jump to preparing the Lean Canvas, but in case you are stuck somewhere or the first version doesn’t make much sense, then turn back, and do the homework.

However, even a good Lean Canvas is more like the beginning of the journey, as this is a set of assumption, which need to be justified. After you run advertisements or other kind of experiments, it is quite normal, that you make a number of modifications, until your business model will improve, and you start making good money. The magic of the whole system is that it works like a guided missile: if it is well programmed, it will hit the target.
