Facebook Ads Measuring System

A Smart Method to Dramatically Improve the Performance of Your Social Media Advertising – Put Facebook Ads on Steroids

See the the key benefits of the powerful system we developed at the bottom of the page.

Put it simple and straight:

  • A good Facebook Ads management system has to be based on a good measuring system including the right metrics.
  • With that, you can dramatically improve the performance of your ads.
  • That will save you a lot of money.
  • But there is no point to stop there. With a good product and a decent size market you can scale up and can make tons of money. What I am talking about is not revenue, but profit. Cash in the bank.

See an example in the Excel spreadsheet (you can download Excel for Android from Google Play for free). Read also the corresponding White Paper (download it free, no opt-in required).

In practice what you should do is reinvest a big portion of last week’s profit into buying more ad impressions this week. That will generate even more sales and profit. Then you continue.

That means you can scale up fast and advertise virtually for free.

That also means you can buy a hundred times more traffic than you could buy solely from your base capital.

And everybody is happy: you, the customer, and Facebook.

This is the way to achieve financial, time, and location independence. You know what I mean.

Now let’s see some more details.

Continuing the logic explained in the White Paper, I have developed a very practical and profit-oriented Facebook measuring system (the provisional name is RKV Measuring System).

It works like a guided missile. When it is well designed, it will make corrections on the way and hit the target almost always.

The system is based on four pillars:

  • Facebook Ads’ own measuring system including metrics and best practices.
  • Marketing measurement science simplified to our purposes (our goal is to make money, not to write a PhD thesis).
  • The Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle every lean practitioner use, and was also adapted for lean startups.
  • Pure, down-to-earth logic with discretion.

Even though one of our key competence at HPC Consulting is measuring, it took years to develop and practice the system. Read about my measurement experience.

The resulting know-how includes the following:

  • 120+ pages eBook describing the strategy behind, the metrics, the measuring system, and their application in practice.
  • A central element of the know-how is the definition and use of a new top KPI: Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI).
  • Shows how to set up a learning system that helps you to improve ad performance day by day.
  • A  collection of Excel-based worksheets, which:
    • Contains the full list of 100+ core metrics with precise definitions.
    • Teaches you how to calculate all the important metrics.
    • Includes several calculators to help ads planning and monitoring.
    • Includes decision tools about when to stop, improve or scale ads.
    • And a lot more (see the slide show).

The full know-how is available now for a budget price (not for long). This is a polished product except that stylistic corrections by a native English speaker are awaited.

Look inside the eBook.

This know-how is not for the ad hoc advertiser. It is for those who are determined to be successful with social media advertising. First of all, you must use the Facebook Ads Manager for advertising and have a Facebook pixel installed on your website. To use the worksheets provided, you will need Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, or a compatible program. In case you are new to Excel, please read this blog post. See the details at the bottom of the page, over the list of benefits.

When I started to advertise on Facebook I often felt like driving blind.

I had dozens of questions even the best books failed to answer:

  • What are the top one dozen metrics I should concentrate on?
  • Which shiny (vanity) metrics should I disregard?
  • Should I bother with numbers or rather concentrate on creatives?
  • Should I measure progress in the sales funnel action-based (impressions, landing page views, adds to cart, etc.) or people-based (reach, and other unique metrics)?
  • How to eliminate bottlenecks in the customer funnel?
  • Why is the number of landing page views (LPV) often just a fraction of clicks on my ad?
  • Is Return on Ad Spend the best top-level metric?
  • Should I download data or monitor ad performance solely in the Ads Manager?
  • Why is there a large mismatch between data in Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and my webshop?
  • Should I concentrate on collecting emails followed by email campaigns, or nudge the prospects in the sales funnel with retargeting ads?
  • Are there good benchmarks I can use to identify possible places of improvement?
  • Should I set my goals based on benchmark data at all?
  • Can I trust conversion rate and conversion cost benchmark data?
  • Should I use broad targeting or demographics and interest based targeting?
  • Is Lookalike Audiences the Holy Grail of targeting?
  • Should I start with top of the funnel (ToFu) goals or go for middle of the funnel (MoFu) or even bottom of the funnel (BoFu) goals?
  • How big my advertisement budget should be?
  • Is there a way to make big bucks with a small starting budget?
  • Should I install the Facebook pixel myself, use partner integrations, plugins, or Google Tag Manager?
  • How to define Standard Events, Custom Events, and Custom Conversions properly?
  • What do these really mean?
  • What to do when cookie restrictions will make the pixel fairly useless?
  • How to prepare for the coming cookies apocalypse?
  • What kind of experiments should I run to optimize campaigns, ad sets, ads, and creatives?
  • Can I leave the optimization for the Facebook algorithm?
  • How, and how fast should I scale?

After reading a dozen of books and literally hundreds of blog posts now I can give answers to these questions. You can find almost all in my eBook. Save yourself months (if not years) of frustration and headache.
